It was my first ride with the faster section of the Team MK ‘C’ group fast for a while. I was however quite confident of keeping up after my midweek rides told me I had the legs for it.
It was a good and fairly orderly ride for a change after the more recent ones. We were graced by the presence of two riders from the local Phil Corley pro race team today. I think maybe they were just on a cruise today..
Nothing much to report other than for an hour or so after the start I was a little concerned that maybe I was not with the right group. We appeared to be going in exactly the opposite direction to Marston Moretaine, our destination. Eventually we swung round and I relaxed a bit.
On arrival at the ‘Forest Park’ my reward to me was a nice gooey piece of chocolate cake and a coffee sitting outside in the shade discussing cycling matters with my fellow riders..
It was a good pace today but the average speed at the end was actually slower than my solo ride on Wednesday.
That big blob of green in the middle of the map in Milton Keynes are all the ‘Redway’ cycle paths that show up on Google maps if you select the ‘Bicycling’ option. You can see there are also some other green lines dotted around the map, these are also cycle paths or roads with cycle lanes. If you select the map and zoom in on the map on the web page it brings up, you can see them all in more detail.
